[Vrstream] Getting key pad replaced on a Stream

Hi Alan

Yes I agree with you, my original stream is starting to be
harder to use just like Tom's, but I will keep it going as
long as I can, I have had it 4 years so another year or so
should see a new device from humanware. I won't spend any
more money on it.

Regards

Adrien

Tom, only you know where you get the most value from your
spent dollars but I suspect getting your original Stream
repaired is going to cost northward of $100 especially after
factoring in shipping. If it were me, I wouldn't spend that
kind of money on a refurbished Stream when a brand new one
can be had for $258 through August 31st. Since you already
have a brand new one waiting in the wings, you might want to
save your money to see what Humanware comes up with for the
second generation of the Stream.

Good luck with your decision.

Hi, all.

The key pad on my first original Stream is beginning to show
signs of wear and tear. The dot on the number 5 is, for all
practical purposes gone. In addition, a few of the keys
(particularly the rewind key), are starting to loose their
functionality. What I mean by this latter statement is that
when you press them, you don't get the nice solid "click",
that you see on a

new unit. Instead, the key movement is more rigid, and
takes a bit of effort to get the designated functions to
work.

Fortunately, I just ordered and received a second stream via
Humanware's summer promotion, so if I send my older unit
in, I have a good working back-up.

On the other hand, if it's going to cost me half the price
of the original Stream to get the keyboard replaced, it may
not be worth it, since the keys still technically work.

Thanks for any thoughts you can provide.
