[Vrstream] Latest Vr Stream Firmware

I agree with Tom. My first generation Stream is approaching its fifth
birthday and does everything I need it to and is still in excellent shape.

Frankly, the first generation Stream doesn't need any firmware updates.
It's as complete as it can be, and there are no issues, that I know of, that
would be solved with a firmware update. And, I don't think that it will
ever be obsoleted by changes in the DAISY formats, audio file formats, etc.
I intend to use mine until I kill it, and that's not happening soon. It'll
be three years old at the end of this month.

Yeah, that was my thought, too, but if Humanware is not providing any more
updates, that sad day may come sooner than we expected!

Thanks very much for this clarification.

Hopefully, it will help others than just me.

Eventually, I probably will acquire a second-generation Stream, but not
until one of my two first-generation Streams becomes non-functional.

Hi, Gary and Tom. The firmware is version 4.03. I tried to update the
firmware because Gary mentioned that there was a later firmware. Gary, I
didn't receive a notification for a later update.

No, Tom, the firmware version mentioned in Gary's message is only for the
second generation stream. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Humanware tech
support representatives have told me that there will be no further first
generation firmware updates.
